Mork

The cunning aspect of Orruk divinity that fuels the endless Waaagh! across the Mortal Realms.

Mork

Mork is one of the twin deities worshipped by the Orruks within the Mortal Realms of Age of Sigmar. Alongside his counterpart Gork, Mork represents the chaotic spirit of war and industry. While individual tribes debate whether these two are separate gods or a single entity split in two, their influence drives every battle fought by the Greenskin hordes. In the specific conflict depicted in Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, the Orruk Kruleboyz are explicit followers of both Mork and Gork as a dual deity, not Mork alone.

Lore & Background

Mork specifically embodies the cleverer, more technical side of Orruk warfare compared to Gork's brute strength. He inspires the creation of crude but effective weaponry, from steam-powered tanks to explosive stikkbombs. However, the distinction is fluid; many tribes believe that Mork and Gork are simply two faces of one great warrior spirit who loves fighting so much he had to split himself in half. In the narrative of Realms of Ruin, this worship is central to the Kruleboyz faction. They are described as swamp-dwelling, sadistic orruks who revere Mork and Gork. This devotion manifests physically during their campaigns; for instance, the killaboss Dankfeer marches his horde into the lands of a rival killaboss named Ripklaw. There, he sacrifices Ripklaw's minions to a shrine of Mork specifically to repair Dankfeer's staff, which had been broken during a ritual involving an artifact. This staff is essential for controlling The Retch.

In Their Own Story

The ground shook as the Waaagh! energy surged through the valley. A Weirdboyz shaman raised a jagged staff, chanting in a guttural tongue that echoed with the promise of violence. He did not pray for peace or mercy; he called upon Mork to sharpen the edges of their iron and fuel the fires of their engines. The sky turned green as the spirits answered, manifesting as a crackle of static above the battle lines. In Realms of Ruin, this divine connection drives the plot's conflict in Ghur. Lord Gloam warned that an artifact was dangerous, but Dankfeer pursued it to control a creature known as The Retch. To harness its power, Dankfeer relied on his shaman Murkfang and later Bludstew, utilizing rituals dedicated to Mork. After eliminating the rival Ripklaw, Dankfeer sacrificed minions at a shrine of Mork to repair the broken staff. This act allowed him to control The Retch until Lord-Celestant Sigrun intervened, breaking the staff and causing Dankfeer to be consumed by the very entity he sought to command.

Reader's Guide

Mork exists as a divine entity rather than a mortal character with a personal biography. His role is to sustain the metaphysical energy that allows Orruks to exist and fight across the Mortal Realms. His powers are tied directly to the Waaagh!, granting Orruks enhanced strength, resilience, and technological ingenuity during conflicts. He does not speak or walk among mortals but manifests through the collective belief of his followers. In the context of Realms of Ruin, his influence is demonstrated through specific actions rather than dialogue. The Kruleboyz faction, led by figures like Dankfeer and shaman Murkfang, operate under his banner. They utilize his shrines to perform critical rituals, such as sacrificing minions to repair magical artifacts. Unlike the other factions in the game's four-way battle for Harkanibus—the Stormcast Eternals, Nighthaunt, or Disciples of Tzeentch—the Orruks rely on this direct physical connection to Mork through their warband structure and ritualistic practices.
